Nick joined the TheJudge in 2017 with the opening of our Canadian offices, bringing a wealth of knowledge to the team. Having a long history in ATE and other litigation insurances globally, Nick previously worked as a commercial underwriting solicitor in the UK offices of one of the world’s largest legal expenses insurance companies. Nick was instrumental in the development of new markets, which led him to Canada in2014, where he managed the national launch of Canada’s first ATE insurance delegated programs. Working in the Toronto office, Nick leads the TheJudge’s Canadian team in the development of the company’s litigation insurance and finance offerings for commercial litigation and arbitration law firms and their business clients. Nick is a recognised expert in litigation & ATE insurance in Canada, and has been called upon to give assistance in various Canadian cases, and was cited in Frantz v. NB Thrilling Films 4 INC. et al., 2017 ONSC 4637. Although originally a lawyer when he departed the Australian Army, Nick started his career in litigation insurance in England in 2008. As well as Queensland, Australia, Nick also practiced as a solicitor in England & Wales, and is currently member of the bar of Ontario, Canada. When not in the office, Nick juggles his time between chasing his two young sons around the playground, and occasionally getting a game of squash in when he gets the chance.
